Hey everybody, I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com. And we're gonna be taking a quick look at the GSI Outdoors Lexan gear boxes. So these are gonna come in four different sizes and I have each of those represented here. We've got small, medium, large and extra large. You can find all of these here at etrailer.com. The nice thing about these is that they're gonna keep your gear protected and dry whenever you're going on a trip.

Maybe you're going hiking, rafting, kayaking or something else. You maybe just wanna keep your stuff in a nice air tight or waterproof environment. So maybe if you wanna put flares or something in a big case like this, it works out really well for that, to keep everything dry and free of humidity. Maybe you wanna bring your camera with you on your kayaking trip and you don't wanna get it wet. This will make a really good way to transport that.

Maybe you just want a safe spot to stash your keys and your phone and your wallet. Or maybe you wanna have a first aid kit and keep everything dry. Any one of these boxes will do a great job. Now they're all pretty much the same. The only real difference is the size.

The biggest size, the extra large, does have a handle to make it easier to carry. But all of them do have a little spot on either side so if you wanted to put in a strap or a bungee to lash them down, you definitely can do that there. I've got some water here and, unfortunately, this is not very big so I can't really try each one of these but I have tried the smallest one, 'cause that's actually what fits in my bucket here. So let's take a closer look and I'll show you how effective it is at keeping out the water whenever I dunk this in there. So if we take a closer look, it's in a book.

Reading rainbow Is that copyright I don't know. Right, so I got my little guy and I'm gonna dunk it in. And the first thing you'll notice is that it's still quite buoyant. Why Because there's air in there. So that shows us that there's no air getting out, therefore no water getting in. I'm just gonna hold this down. Wiggle it around a little bit. Make a little bit of a mess. So no air is escaping from my box. Doesn't look like anything is getting wet inside. Do, do, do, do, do Do, do, do, do, do All right, that's enough. Take this out. Put our dunk tank aside. And the one thing I will say about these boxes that I'm not a big fan of is that the latches are kinda tricky, or, not tricky, there's no trick to it. They're just kinda difficult to open. I also just have strangely weak hands. So I kind of take it with a caveat. It seems like one side is always harder than the other. There we go. So, open this up. Everything is still totally dry on the inside. So no worries, nothing got in here to cause any issues. It should keep everything safe. These are also impact resistant, so Lexan is just a really nice, hard plastic to keep all your stuff secure and dry. There's a gasket going around the lid that the edge of the box will push into to create that water tight, air tight seal. And should keep everything secure in there. Now if you're trying to keep stuff in here to prevent smells from escaping, that's a whole other thing. Smells can probably still escape from this, just because a lot of smells are, it's more of a molecular thing. And it can pass through the actual spaces and the molecules and get out. So even though water and air can't escape, smells still can. So, just wanna keep that little science tip in there. But, again, as far as what I've got in here. Just a bunch of bandages and other first aid kind of stuff. I raided our first aid kit just to see what all I could stuff in here. Still plenty of room to fit more things in here. I couldn't fit my phone into the smallest one. I've got an obnoxiously large phone. But, in the medium one it fit just fine and still has tons of room for other stuff. So I put my keys and my wallet in here. You could easily stash a small point and shoot camera or some other stuff. If you're a smoker you could stash that kind of stuff in there very well. The camera, before you freak out about not having the lens caps, I just didn't have any for this camera. Or, I don't know where they are. I stole this from photo. So, you could still fit in filters, an extra battery in here, whatever else you might need for your camera. In the biggest one, you could stash all of this stuff and probably still have more room for other things. I have seen folks who use this, again, as a container for flares, for other kinds of stuff that you need to keep really dry. And it just makes for a really nice case. So whatever size you choose, there should be one to fit your needs here. As far as the specific dimensions and weights for each box, you can find those on the individual pages here at etrailer.com.
